With shorter arms, no torque limiting device, and an operating range to 65+MPH, the Model 1500 Linear Array Vortex Turbine Systems (LAVTS) are ideal for sites with turbulent and highly energetic winds because more they allow a wind farm owner with an excellent resource to produce more energy per linear meter of ridge line than the Model 3000 LAVTS, which has the same 75kW generator but twice the diameter rotor.
Model 636G
WHI’s Model 636G brings together the design of the Model 530G with the external array structure of the Model 1500. It will use 12-foot blades instead of the 10-foot blades of the Model 530G and thus increase its rotor swept area to 636 square feet. With the same 25 kW generator it will have a higher capacity factor and a better swept area to cost ratio. Because the blades will be aligned to appear as four 36' blades, it will have 1/3 the drag-creating blade ends and an improved aspect ratio.
Model 3000
The Model 3000 will be 75 feet wide and exceptionally competitive in lower wind speed locations (13-16 mph)
