WITH UNCERTAINTY LOOMING OVER FEDERAL INCENTIVE, U.S. WIND INDUSTRY
INSTALLS 1,400 MW IN FIRST QUARTER
With the fate of a key federal incentive in the balance, the U.S.
wind energy industry continued new installations at a breakneck
pace in the first quarter of 2008, putting 1,400 megawatts (MW)
or approximately $3 billion worth of new generating capacity in
place, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) said today in
its quarterly market report.

MAJOR NEW TECHNICAL REPORT FINDS WIND CAN PROVIDE 20% OF U.S.
ELECTRICITY NEEDS BY 2030
Wind power is capable of becoming a major contributor to America's
electricity supply over the next three decades, according to a
report released today by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The Carroll County commissioners unanimously voted yesterday to
allow the installation of small wind turbines.

SIEMENS IS AWARDED ONE OF ITS LARGEST WIND TURBINE ORDERS BY FPL
ENERGY - PRODUCTION CAPACITY OF US ROTOR BLADE FACILITY IN IOWA TO
BE DOUBLED
Siemens Energy has been awarded one of its largest wind turbine
orders ever. FPL Energy has ordered 218 Siemens wind turbines to
be installed at several wind farms across the U.S. for delivery in
2009.

AVISTA MOVES FORWARD WITH RENEWABLE RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
Avista has acquired the rights to develop a 50-megawatt (MW) wind
farm near Reardan, Wash. taking an important step in implementing
the company's 2007 Electric Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).

WIND FARM TO YIELD $12.8M
The second phase of Babcock & Brown's 200-megawatt Aragonne Mesa
wind farm near Santa Rosa will generate an estimated $12.8 million
in revenue for public schools, under an agreement signed this
month by state Public Lands Commissioner Patrick Lyons.

FAVORABLE WINDS FOR WIND FARM DEDICATION
About 300 people showed up Thursday to dedicate Klickitat County's
second major wind farm. The White Creek Wind Project is a
205-megawatt wind farm about 12 miles south of Bickleton.

ABOUT $250 MILLION AND EMPLOY UP TO 250 PEOPLE DURING CONSTRUCTION
Now that Noxen Township's wind ordinance has been approved, BP
Alternative Energy is publicly pushing for a wind park in Wyoming
County.

Pueblo is in the running to be the site of a new tower factory
proposed by wind-turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems.

WIND POWER PROJECT PLAN TO BUILD MORE TURBINES IN PROWERS COUNTY
Prowers County leaders said this week that operators of the
Colorado Green Wind Power Project plan to expand the giant wind
farm south of town.

IBERDROLA RENEWABLES SIGNS TURBINE CONTRACT WITH GENERAL ELECTRIC
IBERDROLA RENEWABLES has signed a contract with General Electric
for the supply of turbines with a total capacity of 300 megawatts
(MW). The total investment related to development of this wind
capacity will total approximately EUR 430 million.

AWEA: U.S. WIND INDUSTRY INSTALLS 1,400 MW
The U.S. wind energy industry has continued new installations in the first quarter of this year, installing 1,400 MW or approximately $3 billion worth of new wind generating capacity, according to a quarterly market report released by the Washington, D.C.-based American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).

AWS COMPLETES WIND RESOURCE MAP OF U.S.
Albany, N.Y,-based AWS Truewind LLC has completed the first high-resolution wind resource map of the contiguous U.S. Covering a land area of over 9 million square kilometers, the U.S. wind map produced by AWS Truewind is the largest high-resolution wind resource map available to date, according to the company.

EDF ENERGIES NOUVELLES TO BUILD FIVE WIND FARMS IN CANADA
EDF Energies Nouvelles has been selected by Hydro-Quebec
Distribution to build five wind farms with 954MW in total capacity
in Quebec, Canada.

RWE INNOGY ANNOUNCES CONSTRUCTION OF OFFSHORE WIND FARM
RWE Innogy has announced that the construction of the offshore
wind farm Rhyl Flats off the Welsh coast is progressing.

HYDROGEN PLANT PROPOSALS FAIL TO BLOW AWAY CONCERNS OVER WIND FARM PROJECT
An Australian renewables start-up is hoping to deflect local
opposition to a wind farm currently under consideration by North
Ayrshire Council, by applying to build a hydrogen plant that would
allow it to feed electricity into the grid even on calm days.

IBERDROLA RENEWABLES COMMISSIONS NEW WIND FARMS IN GERMANY AND GREECE
Iberdrola Renewables has commissioned new wind farms in Germany
and Greece, strengthening its European presence and bringing it
nearer its objective of installing an additional 2,000MW in 2008.

ScottishPower Renewables and its partner Eurus Energy have
announced that they are seeking to re-energize Llandinam windfarm
