First step in USAF shift to alternative energy almost complete

The Air Force is completing what a senior service official the dubbed first step in a new initiative to host private alternative energy producers on its bases across the country. That step began when one of the largest photovoltaic energy plants on the continent began producing electricity on Oct. 12 at Nellis Air Force Base, NV, according to a senior Air Force energy official.

  Duke Energy Indiana  has issued a "Request for Proposals" seeking
  bids for power generated from  renewable energy sources, including
  sun, wind, water, organic matter and other  sources.
