New Jersey Governor (James) McGreevey paved the way for a
stepped-up fight against global warming on Thursday, making New
Jersey the first state in the nation to declare heat-trapping
carbon dioxide a public hazard.

A Popular Teesside walkway could soon be home to the area's newest
wind farm.

WINDS OF CHANGE CAN BENEFIT VIRGINIA
A wind farm has been proposed in Highland County. If approved and
completed, the project will be the first in Virginia. Nationwide,
wind energy generation has tripled over the past five years and
now serves the equivalent of 1.6 million average American homes.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power received more than
40 proposals for renewable energy projects, marking a milestone in
its effort to increase renewable energy to 20% of its power
portfolio by 2017.

BIG GUNS BACKING CASE FOR WIND
Nearly three-quarters of the population agree that wind farms are
necessary to help meet current and future energy needs in the UK,
despite a vocal protest against their expansion, it is reported today.

MOSSBURN WIND FARM PLANNED
STATE-OWNED generator Meridian Energy will today unveil plans for
a big new wind farm near Mossburn, in Northern Southland, likely
to involve between 30 and 40 turbines.

EUROPE COULD RUN ON RENEWABLE ENERGY
Every home in Europe could be powered by renewable energy,
according to a new report. Sea Wind Europe, a study by wind-energy
consultancy Garrad Hassan, analysed wind speeds, sea depths,
economic infrastructure and advancements in offshore wind technology.
