GE Energy will supply 71 1.5-MW wind turbines to Italian electric utility EnelSpA.  Five of the turbines will be used to repower older turbines in Abruzzo next year; EnelSpA plans to install 38 turbines in Sardinia this year; and the remaining 28 will be used in future projects.

Vestas to supply Italian project

Vestas Wind Systems has received orders for 35 2-MW turbines from a joint venture between Italian developer Fri-EL GreenPower and companies of the EDF group of France to be installed in 2004-2005. The two wind farms where the turbines are expected to be erected are in the Basilicata and Campania regions of Italy.
