TWO WISCONSIN UTILITIES SIGN 20-YEAR CONTRACTS TO BUY WIND ENERGY
Madison Gas and Electric Co. and Wisconsin Public Power Inc. said
Friday they have signed 20-year contracts to buy a total of 60
megawatts of wind energy from a wind farm proposed to be built
about 70 miles northeast of Madison.

WIND is the most approved form of electricity generation and most
people would not oppose a wind farm being built in their area, a
new survey shows.

PANEL SAYS WISCONSIN UTILITIES MUST INCREASE ENERGY FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES
Wisconsin's utilities should be required to boost by 6 percent the
amount of electricity they generate from environmentally friendly
sources by 2015, a task force appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle said Tuesday.

WISCONSIN UTILITIES TEAM UP TO BUILD 130-MW WIND FARM
Three Wisconsin utilities announced that they would contract to buy the output from a new wind farm to be developed by Invenergy Wind in southern Fond du Lac and northern Dodge counties. The project is to be called the Forward Energy Center and is expected to be operational as early as August, 2005.

IDAHO POWER SEES RENEWABLES MEETING LARGE PROPORTION OF NEW DEMAND
Idaho Power has published a new integrated resource plan (IRP) that has wind power playing a substantial role in meeting the utility’s new power needs. Over the next 10 years, the utility proposes purchasing the output from 350 MW of new wind power.
