Note:  These story titles and lead paragraphs predominantly come from Energy Central's daily posting of the world's energy stories. Others are sent to me by subscribers of Wind News.  Energy Central requires paid membership to read full stories.  You can often paste the headline into Google and find the original source of the story. NEW ENERGY TARGETS MAY MEAN MORE WIND FARMS

SCOTLAND could get more wind farms following new targets to
increase renewable energy, boost the amount of "green electricity"
  and curb carbon dioxide emissions.
 ********

GREEN ENERGY TARGET LIFTED TO 15%

ELECTRICITY SUPPLIERS will have to buy more than 15 per cent of

OHIO DEDICATES FIRST WIND FARM

Ohio’s first utility-scale wind farm went online November 6 at a municipally-owned site southwest of Bowling Green.  It was developed by American Municipal Power (AMP)-Ohio.  Green Mountain Energy Co. has contracted to purchase the green attributes (green tags) of the energy produced at the wind farm, thereby lowering the cost of the energy sold to participating communities.

The AMP-Ohio/Green Mountain Energy wind farm consists of two 1.8-MW wind turbines.  The estimated combined output of the units will be 6.9 million kWh per year, providing enough power to supply approximately 780 homes.  The turbines have 132-foot blades and sit on 257-foot towers
